- Plywood cut to size on site and fastened over window and door openings
- Keeps rain and intruders out of a damaged or vacant building
- Every boarded opening photographed for your records and claim file
- Often the first step of a fire or storm job we then carry through cleanup and rebuild
- We bill the insurance carrier directly when a covered claim applies, and you can hire us for a board-up without any claim
Process
What happens after you call.
- 01
Call and describe the damage
Tell us what's open to the weather: broken windows or a door that won't close. We give you an arrival window for the same day.
- 02
Walk the openings
On site, we check each opening and the framing around it, and note anything hazardous such as loose glass before work starts.
- 03
Measure and cut
Plywood is measured and cut to fit each opening on site, so panels cover the full opening instead of resting over part of it.
- 04
Fasten
Each panel is fastened so it can't be pulled loose by wind or by hand. The goal is a building that stays closed until repairs start.
- 05
Photos and next steps
We photograph every boarded opening for your records and your claim file. If there's fire or water damage inside, we can inspect it during the same visit, and the inspection is free.
Insurance
We work with your insurance, and we bill them directly
- 01
Call us
We answer, ask what happened, and get a crew moving. Same-day emergency response on active water.
- 02
We document everything
We take moisture readings and photos and write up a scope of work before drying starts, so your adjuster has the file from day one.
- 03
We bill your insurer directly
We work directly with your insurance company on covered water and mold claims, so you're not fronting the full cost and chasing reimbursement.
Your deductible is still yours to cover, and we'll tell you that number before any work starts rather than after. You also don't need a claim to hire us. Plenty of our jobs are paid directly by the homeowner, and after the free inspection we'll say which way makes more sense for the damage you have.
Common problems
What we get called about most.
Windows broken during firefighting
Crews may break windows or cut openings to release heat and smoke while putting a fire out. Once the scene is released to you, those openings let in rain and anyone who tries them. We board them the same day you call.
A door that won't close after forced entry
A kicked or pried frame usually won't latch, which means the building can't be locked. We board and secure the opening so the property isn't left open while you arrange repairs.
Storm damage with more weather coming
A window taken out by wind or a falling limb lets the next round of rain reach the interior. Boarding the opening the same day keeps the water damage from compounding while repairs get sorted out.
An insurer expecting you to secure the property
After a loss, your policy expects you to keep the damage from getting worse. A board-up meets that expectation, and we photograph each boarded opening so your claim file shows the property was protected.
Who's showing up

FAQ
Questions we get most.
Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?
Usually, when the cause was sudden and accidental: a burst pipe, a failed water heater, an appliance hose that let go. Policies generally exclude damage that happened gradually, like a slow leak that ran for months, and outside flooding needs a separate flood policy. When we inspect, we document the cause of loss carefully, because that is the first thing the adjuster reviews.
Should I wait for the adjuster before cleanup starts?
No. Your policy requires you to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, and standing water does more harm every hour it sits. Extraction and drying should start right away. We photograph and document the property before and during the work, so the adjuster can see exactly what condition it was in when we arrived.
What should I do in the first few hours after water damage?
Stop the water at the main shut-off or the fixture valve if you can reach it safely. If water is near outlets or appliances, cut power to that area at the breaker — never stand in water to do it. Move what you can to a dry room. Then call (551) 414-6202. The sooner extraction starts, the more of the structure and contents we can save.
How fast can you get here?
We dispatch the same day you call, six days a week, from our base in Totowa. Most of our service area is within about 45 minutes. Tell us what you see when you call — standing water, an active leak, a ceiling coming down — and we will tell you what to do until the crew arrives.
Why are you closed on Saturdays?
We are a Shabbat-observant business, so we close every Saturday. The rest of the week, Sunday through Friday, we answer and dispatch the same day. If water is spreading on a Saturday, shut off the main valve, cut power to the wet area at the breaker, and call us — we respond as soon as we reopen.
