Strauss Restoration is an independent restoration company based in Totowa, New Jersey. We handle water damage, mold remediation, fire damage, and the reconstruction that follows, across six counties in Northern NJ.
Who we are
One company, from cleanup through rebuild.
The core of the work is water damage restoration and mold remediation: emergency extraction, structural drying, containment, remediation, and the repairs afterward, handled by one company from the first phone call to the last coat of paint. Fire and smoke cleanup runs on the same model — assessment, cleanup, and reconstruction without a handoff.
The work runs on IICRC standards. We hold certifications in water damage restoration and mold remediation, the coursework that sets how drying and remediation are done. Every job starts with a free inspection, gets documented with photos and moisture readings, and ends against a written scope. On covered claims we bill your insurer directly, and you don't need a claim to hire us.
Emergencies get same-day response, six days a week, from our base at 999 Riverview Dr, Totowa. Most of the towns we cover are within about 45 minutes.

We tell you the limits
If a mold patch is small enough to handle yourself, we say so, which is what the EPA's own guidance says too. If flooring can't be saved, you hear it before the work starts, not after. That answer comes at the free inspection.
Everything in writing
Photos before anything moves, moisture readings while equipment runs, and a written scope before work starts. On a covered claim, that file is what your adjuster works from; without one, it's how you know what you're paying for.
We keep Shabbat
We're a Shabbat-observant company, so the phones are off on Saturday. The other six days the line is answered 8am to 6pm, and a message left on Saturday gets a call back when we reopen.

The person who answers the phone is the person planning your job. You're not routed through a call center, and the same company handles the cleanup and the rebuild, so the work isn't handed off to a subcontractor you've never met.
We bill your insurance directly
On covered water, mold, and fire claims we document the damage the way adjusters need it, then bill your carrier directly. You don't need a claim to hire us, though. Plenty of our jobs are paid by the homeowner.

Every job starts with a free inspection and ends that visit with a written scope. If the problem is smaller than you feared, or it can safely wait, that's what you'll hear.
