At a glance

When a pipe bursts or a basement floods, the damage keeps spreading until the water is out. Moisture can lead to mold in as little as 24 to 48 hours. Call (551) 414-6202. The inspection is free. We dispatch the same day, and extraction starts on arrival. Drying equipment then runs until the meters read dry.

Process

What happens after you call.

  1. 01

    Inspect and map the moisture

Sewage residue coating a hardwood hallway floor and bathroom tile around a toilet after a backup

The inspection is free. We check every room the water could have reached with moisture meters and a thermal camera, including wall cavities and the layers under your flooring. You get the findings in writing before any demolition starts.

  2. 02

    Contain the work area

Sewage backup covering a bathroom floor with soaked rugs and a water-damaged vanity cabinet

Plastic containment goes up around the wet rooms so demolition debris and mold spores stay out of the rest of the building. Air scrubbers run inside the containment when the job calls for them.

  3. 03

    Extract the standing water

Moisture meter reading 999 wet at a baseboard heater beside water-sheened hardwood flooring in Paterson NJ

Pumps and wet vacuums remove the standing water. Soaked carpet pad, wet insulation, buckled flooring, and drywall that absorbed water come out on the same visit.

  4. 04

    Dry the structure

Bathroom tile floor coated in dark sewage residue around the toilet and shower after a backup in a Paterson NJ home

High-capacity dehumidifiers and air movers dry the framing and subfloor layers, which hold moisture long after surfaces feel dry to the hand. We position the equipment where the meter readings show wet material and adjust it as rooms dry.

  5. 05

    Clean and treat

Wall opened to the studs exposing plumbing, with a HEPA air scrubber running after water damage in Paterson NJ

Surfaces the water reached are cleaned and treated with EPA-registered antimicrobials before anything is rebuilt. Wet materials can support mold growth in as little as 24 to 48 hours, so this step is part of every water job we run.

  6. 06

    Verify dry and document

FLIR thermal image revealing a large cold wet area of flooring in purple, reading 18.8 C during moisture mapping

Final readings confirm the structure meets its dry standard. Photos, moisture readings, equipment logs, and a list of removed materials go into one file. You keep a copy, and on a covered claim it supports your adjuster's review.

Insurance

We work with your insurance, and we bill them directly

  1. 01

    Call us

We answer, ask what happened, and get a crew moving. Same-day emergency response on active water.

  2. 02

    We document everything

We take moisture readings and photos and write up a scope of work before drying starts, so your adjuster has the file from day one.

  3. 03

    We bill your insurer directly

We work directly with your insurance company on covered water and mold claims, so you're not fronting the full cost and chasing reimbursement.

Your deductible is still yours to cover, and we'll tell you that number before any work starts rather than after. You also don't need a claim to hire us. Plenty of our jobs are paid directly by the homeowner, and after the free inspection we'll say which way makes more sense for the damage you have.

Common problems

What we get called about most.

Ceiling stain that keeps growing

The source is usually a bathroom or a pipe run above the stain. We trace the wet area with a thermal camera before cutting, so only the section that is wet gets opened, and we confirm the leak is stopped before drying starts.

Water heater leaked in a finished area

A failed tank empties onto the floor and keeps drawing from the supply line until the valve is closed. We shut the water and extract, then meter the surrounding rooms, because water spreads under flooring beyond the wet area you can see.

Wood floors starting to cup

Cupping means the boards are absorbing moisture from below. Caught early, hardwood can sometimes be dried in place; left wet, it usually needs replacement. We meter the subfloor before recommending either.

A musty smell but no visible water

That smell after a past leak usually means damp material inside a wall or under a floor. Moisture meters and a thermal camera can locate it without opening every wall. The inspection is free, and if nothing reads wet we tell you that.

FAQ

Questions we get most.

Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?

Usually, when the cause was sudden and accidental: a burst pipe, a failed water heater, an appliance hose that let go. Policies generally exclude damage that happened gradually, like a slow leak that ran for months, and outside flooding needs a separate flood policy. When we inspect, we document the cause of loss carefully, because that is the first thing the adjuster reviews.

Do you bill my insurance company directly?

Yes. On covered water, mold, and fire claims we bill the carrier directly, so you are not fronting the cost and waiting for reimbursement. You pay your deductible and we settle the rest with the insurer, supported by the photos, moisture readings, and drying logs adjusters ask for. A claim is not required to hire us — many of our residential jobs are paid by the homeowner.

What should I do in the first few hours after water damage?

Stop the water at the main shut-off or the fixture valve if you can reach it safely. If water is near outlets or appliances, cut power to that area at the breaker — never stand in water to do it. Move what you can to a dry room. Then call (551) 414-6202. The sooner extraction starts, the more of the structure and contents we can save.

How fast can you get here?

We dispatch the same day you call, six days a week, from our base in Totowa. Most of our service area is within about 45 minutes. Tell us what you see when you call — standing water, an active leak, a ceiling coming down — and we will tell you what to do until the crew arrives.

Why are you closed on Saturdays?

We are a Shabbat-observant business, so we close every Saturday. The rest of the week, Sunday through Friday, we answer and dispatch the same day. If water is spreading on a Saturday, shut off the main valve, cut power to the wet area at the breaker, and call us — we respond as soon as we reopen.

The floor looks dry now. Is the damage done?

Surfaces dry first; the layers underneath do not. Water wicks into subfloors, wall cavities, and insulation, where it can sit for weeks. Mold growth can start in 24 to 48 hours in material that stays wet. We check with moisture meters and a thermal camera, and if the readings say the structure is dry, we tell you that and leave it alone.
