Water Damage Restoration in Fort Lee, NJ
When extraction starts the same day, less drywall gets cut out and the flooring often dries in place. So we run same-day emergency response six days a week, and we keep drying until the meters read dry. Fort Lee is about 30 minutes out for us.
About half an hour via I-80 and I-95 outside of bridge traffic. High-rise work turns on logistics: certificate of insurance filed with management, service elevator reserved, floor protection down, and containment set so hallways stay usable while units dry.
A person answers — not an answering service. Closed Saturdays for Shabbat. Covered claims are billed directly to your carrier.

What we see in Fort Lee
The housing stock, the terrain, and the drainage in Fort Lee all change how we plan a job. Here's what we run into:
Water & drainage
The borough is small, nearly built out, and edged by steep grades, so a cloudburst sheets down the street slopes instead of soaking in, and below-grade garages and utility rooms at the low points collect the runoff. Ida in 2021 showed across Bergen's urban towns how quickly overwhelmed storm drains can flood blocks that sit outside any mapped floodplain.
On the ground
In a 300-foot tower, one failed riser fitting or washing-machine hose can wet a column of units several floors deep, and the loss usually touches both the unit owner's coverage and the building's master policy. We open, dry, and document floor by floor with both policies in mind.
The housing stock
Much of the tower stock dates to the 1960s and 70s build-out, which means decades-old risers, valves, and supply lines above stacked kitchens and baths. Water travels down those stacks, so we scope every unit in the column below a leak, not only the one that reported it.
Process
What happens after you call.
Every water loss runs the same way: we ask what happened on the phone, extract the same day, verify the drying with meters, and keep a documented file your adjuster can work from. Here's the short version. The service page covers each step.
- Inspect and map the moisture
- Contain the work area
- Extract the standing water
- Dry the structure
- Clean and treat
- Verify dry and document
Common problems
The problems we're usually called about.
Ceiling stain that keeps growing
The source is usually a bathroom or a pipe run above the stain. We trace the wet area with a thermal camera before cutting, so only the section that is wet gets opened, and we confirm the leak is stopped before drying starts.
Water heater leaked in a finished area
A failed tank empties onto the floor and keeps drawing from the supply line until the valve is closed. We shut the water and extract, then meter the surrounding rooms, because water spreads under flooring beyond the wet area you can see.
Wood floors starting to cup
Cupping means the boards are absorbing moisture from below. Caught early, hardwood can sometimes be dried in place; left wet, it usually needs replacement. We meter the subfloor before recommending either.
A musty smell but no visible water
That smell after a past leak usually means damp material inside a wall or under a floor. Moisture meters and a thermal camera can locate it without opening every wall. The inspection is free, and if nothing reads wet we tell you that.

FAQ
Questions we get most.
Why are you closed on Saturdays?
We are a Shabbat-observant business, so we close every Saturday. The rest of the week, Sunday through Friday, we answer and dispatch the same day. If water is spreading on a Saturday, shut off the main valve, cut power to the wet area at the breaker, and call us — we respond as soon as we reopen.
The floor looks dry now. Is the damage done?
Surfaces dry first; the layers underneath do not. Water wicks into subfloors, wall cavities, and insulation, where it can sit for weeks. Mold growth can start in 24 to 48 hours in material that stays wet. We check with moisture meters and a thermal camera, and if the readings say the structure is dry, we tell you that and leave it alone.
Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?
Usually, when the cause was sudden and accidental: a burst pipe, a failed water heater, an appliance hose that let go. Policies generally exclude damage that happened gradually, like a slow leak that ran for months, and outside flooding needs a separate flood policy. When we inspect, we document the cause of loss carefully, because that is the first thing the adjuster reviews.
Do you bill my insurance company directly?
Yes. On covered water, mold, and fire claims we bill the carrier directly, so you are not fronting the cost and waiting for reimbursement. You pay your deductible and we settle the rest with the insurer, supported by the photos, moisture readings, and drying logs adjusters ask for. A claim is not required to hire us — many of our residential jobs are paid by the homeowner.
What should I do in the first few hours after water damage?
Stop the water at the main shut-off or the fixture valve if you can reach it safely. If water is near outlets or appliances, cut power to that area at the breaker — never stand in water to do it. Move what you can to a dry room. Then call (551) 414-6202. The sooner extraction starts, the more of the structure and contents we can save.

We're about 30 minutes out, six days a week. The homes run to high-rise condominiums and co-ops built from the 1960s onward, several of them over 300 feet tall, along with garden apartments and older single-family streets in sections like Coytesville. We cover every block, including the high-rise corridor near the bridge, Main Street Koreatown, Coytesville. Fort Lee is known for the George Washington Bridge, Main Street's Koreatown, and its early-1900s run as the motion picture capital of America.
