Mold Remediation in Passaic, NJ

The inspection is free and the scope comes in writing. If the problem turns out smaller than you feared, that's what we'll tell you. Passaic is about 18 minutes out for us.

The Passaic River forms the city's entire eastern edge, and Clifton is its only land neighbor. Storm sewers discharge toward the river, so when the river runs above its banks the whole city drains slowly and the lowest blocks near the water pond first.

A person answers — not an answering service. Closed Saturdays for Shabbat. Covered claims are billed directly to your carrier.

Local knowledge

What we see in Passaic

The housing stock, the terrain, and the drainage in Passaic all change how we plan a job. Here's what we run into:

On the ground

During Ida in September 2021, parts of Passaic flooded so deep that firefighters worked in more than six feet of water to reach people trapped in cars. After any major storm here, a basement between Main Avenue and the riverbank should get a moisture inspection even if the street looked passable.

The housing stock

Passaic Park's pre-war houses hold plaster walls, oak floors, and finished basements in daily use by large households. Those materials are worth saving and slow to dry, so we meter them to verified dryness before any rebuild starts.

Getting to you

From Totowa the drive comes down through Clifton, about eighteen minutes. We are closed Saturdays for Shabbat and working Sundays, a schedule many Passaic Park families keep themselves.

Common problems

The problems we're usually called about.

Basement or crawl space mold

Below-grade spaces hold moisture from seepage and humidity, and they sit in the 60°F to 80°F range where most molds grow. We remediate the growth and address the moisture, which often means drying and dehumidification.

Growth near HVAC returns or ductwork

Mold can spread through HVAC systems, and growth near a return can send spores to every room the system serves. We contain and remediate the affected area, and we tell you if the system itself needs attention beyond our scope.

Mold around windows and on exterior walls

Condensation forms where warm indoor air meets cold surfaces, so window frames and exterior-wall corners are common growth spots. We remove the growth and identify the condensation problem so the same spot doesn't develop it again.

A musty smell with nothing visible

A musty or earthy odor is one of the main warning signs of mold, and it often comes from growth you can't see: inside a wall cavity, under flooring, or in a crawl space. Moisture tools let us find the damp area without opening everything up.

Insurance

We work with your insurance, and we bill them directly

  1. 01

    Call us

We answer, ask what happened, and get a crew moving. Same-day emergency response on active water.

  2. 02

    We document everything

We take moisture readings and photos and write up a scope of work before drying starts, so your adjuster has the file from day one.

  3. 03

    We bill your insurer directly

We work directly with your insurance company on covered water and mold claims, so you're not fronting the full cost and chasing reimbursement.

Your deductible is still yours to cover, and we'll tell you that number before any work starts rather than after. You also don't need a claim to hire us. Plenty of our jobs are paid directly by the homeowner, and after the free inspection we'll say which way makes more sense for the damage you have.

FAQ

Questions we get most.

What are your hours?

Sunday through Friday, 8am to 6pm. We are closed Saturdays. Emergency calls during business hours get a same-day response — call (551) 414-6202 and we will get a crew moving.

Is mold in my house dangerous?

Mold exposure can trigger allergy symptoms and breathing irritation, and people with asthma or weakened immune systems are more sensitive to it. That is reason to deal with it properly, not to panic. Remediation removes the growth and, just as important, fixes the moisture that fed it, so it does not return.

What does mold remediation involve?

Six steps: inspect and find the moisture source, contain the area with plastic sheeting and negative air, remove contaminated materials like drywall and insulation, clean the remaining surfaces with EPA-registered products, fix the moisture problem, and encapsulate cleaned framing with a sealant coating where it is warranted. HEPA air scrubbers run through the work.

How long does mold remediation take?

A single contained area — one wall, a bathroom ceiling — often takes a day or two. A basement or attic with widespread growth runs longer, and drying the structure afterward can add days. The free inspection gives you a written scope with the timeline for your specific job before any work starts.

Will the mold come back after remediation?

Not if the moisture problem is fixed — that is the step that decides it. Mold is a symptom; damp material is the cause. Every remediation we run includes finding and correcting the water source, whether that is a leak, condensation, or ventilation. Remove the mold and leave the moisture, and any contractor's work will fail.
